Gratitude - The Secret to Changing Your Life
The largest obstacles standing in our way when we begin attempting to utilize the Law of Attraction are our current habitual thought processes. Whether we realize it or not, most of us focus solely on our lacks, our wants, (also translated as "things we don't have" or "lack"), and on the things that irritate us or stand in our way. This is largely counterproductive, as what we are magnetizing is more lack and more irritation.
There is a fantastic trick to altering our mode of thought in a more positive, abundant direction. This is the process of gratitude.
Take a moment and stop worrying about the things you need. Stop worrying about the things you want. Stop worrying about what's going wrong and what you can't do anything about. Instead, focus on what it is in your own life that you already have that you are grateful for. Do you have a significant other? A child? A great car? A great computer? Great friends? A job you enjoy? Even a book that you are reading right now that just tickles you pink is a good point of focus.
Become aware of the effect these things have on your life. What would life be like without them? Aren't you grateful to have these things? Focus on your gratitude for what you have. Spend a little time every morning and every night feeling gratitude for the things you already have acquired or accomplished that have made your life better.
Now here's the fun part. When you focus on the things that you love and already have, you create a magnet to attract more things you will love and have. When you are constantly grateful for your family, your house, your pets, or whatever, you are placing these positive emotions and thoughts out in front of your negative worries. Now, the stronger of these thoughts (the positive ones) will begin to have the most effect on your manifestations.
Because you are now in a mindset of enjoying the things you have, you are in a present, positive state of mind which allows fast and easy attraction of more wonderful things and people into your life. The irony is that most of us completely ignore and neglect that which we already have, and therefore we are creating even more lack in our lives - we are creating an energetic lack of that which we've already attracted! That form of magnetizing will only continue to bring you things and experiences you do not desire. Focusing on and developing gratitude causes your energy to focus on manifesting more reasons to be grateful.
And so it is that the simplest, most effective trick for manifesting things that you want is to stop and take the time to appreciate and enjoy the things that you already have.

4 Steps to Becoming Free and Happy
Whenever someone tells you that your way is blocked by discouragement or confusion, check over these 4 Steps. It won't be long before you will find the barrier at your back and find yourself on the open highway once more.
1. A sincere desire for inner change
You must really want to be different. Your first desire should be for the truth itself, not for ideas that please you by backing up what you already believe. The earnest man dares to sail uncharted seas. When he finally reaches port, he finds that this new world, though strange at first, is what he really sought all along. You can change the thing that is wrong in your life. You just need to be prepared and ready to do it. Whenever you develop the desire, you can take away from your life what is defeating it. The capacity for reformation and change lies within.
2. Contact with workable principles
This means we must be in contact with some sort of genuine help. This can be a person who has already set himself at liberty, it can be a book, or it can be a matured way of thinking. You must be aware of counterfeit; you must not accept something as true merely because it appears so to you. You must make every offered idea prove itself to be a workable principle. You must personally verify everything. The road to happiness lies in simple principles: do what interests you and that you can do well, and put your whole soul into it every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have.
3. Self honesty
Genuine courage consistent in being honest with yourself. What makes men free is for the most part is the truth which men prefer not to hear. The really heroic person is one who is willing to be wrong for the present in order to be right later on. But honesty does not mean that you change your viewpoints really for the sake of change; it means you explore your viewpoints in order to separate truth from falsity. Then truth dissolves falsity. There is nothing of more practical use than self honesty.
4. Persistence
You may be sincere, and you may have found a source of genuine help. And you may also have a full supply of self honesty. By adding one more thing, then you have all you need for swift strides forward; it is an old-fashioned and admirable quality called persistence. You must keep going. As the New Testament phrases it, he must not fall by the wayside. Persistence pays. Persistent people begin their success where others end in failure.
To be happy, rather than say "if only" substitute instead the words "next time". Success consists of getting up just one more time after you fall.
Entrepreneurs average 3.8 failures before realizing a final success. What sets the successful apart is amazing persistence. There are a lot of people out there who have good and marketable ideas, but pure entrepreneurial types almost never accept defeat.
The line between failure and success is so fine that we are often on the line and do not know it. How many a man had thrown up his hands when a little more effort, a little more patience, would have achieved success. A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed like a hopeless failure may turn into glorious success
Becoming free and happy is what finding your True Self is all about. It is based upon an awareness that there is a better way to live and then eliminating all obstacles to realizing it. Visualize your destiny and make it a reality.

How an Attitude of Gratitude Changes Everything
Just had to share this post from Bob Procter, which epitomises why being grateful is a must, for positive impacts in our lives. Enjoy!
Most people know it’s good to be grateful, but many don’t understand what gratitude really does for us.
Expressing gratitude instantly shifts your energy. It puts you in harmony with your source of supply so that the good in everything moves toward you.
I like the way Wallace Wattles puts it in “The Science of Getting Rich.” He said, “The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best. Therefore, it tends to become the best; it takes the form or character of the best and will receive the best.”
Many people express gratitude first thing in the morning or before going to bed at night. Well, here’s another time to express it: whenever you feel overwhelmed with problems.
You see, if you have challenges in your life that are dominating your thinking—a shortage of money, a business problem, a relationship problem—you will have a tendency to focus on the problem. And by doing that, you add energy to the problem. And then the problem grows.
The next time things don’t seem to be going your way, just stop what you’re doing, and think about all of the things you have to be grateful for. I know that’s a pretty tall order, but if you do it, everything will start to shift in an instant. Just like snapping your fingers. When you change the way you look at the problems, the problems will change.
I gave Sandy similar advice a while back…
I had done a seminar in Phoenix and Sandy was going through a rough time in her life. I was leaving town and she asked if we could grab a cup of coffee before I flew out.
So we went to a coffee shop, and she asked if I could give her a few ideas to help her maintain a positive attitude. I said sure, and then I picked up a napkin and grabbed a pen. On the top of the napkin, I wrote: Every morning think of ten things that you are grateful for.
Then, I said, “When you get finished writing the ten things down, send love to three people who are bothering you.”
Now most people have difficulty doing that. If someone is really bothering them, they send bad energy to that person. Don’t do that, send love to them—not for the other person’s sake, but for yours. Sending love puts you in a wonderful vibration that will attract good things to you.
The third thing I told Sandy to do was to be quiet for five minutes and ask for guidance for the day.
Sandy wasn’t sure that it would work, but she did it anyway—and it worked. I knew it would work because gratitude shifts our energy to what’s good, and that attracts more of what you want.
Gina, my executive assistant, created a daily gratitude exercise of the tips I provided to Sandy. We recently shared this exercise with the PGI team, and now we’re sharing it with you as something you can use to attract more good things into YOUR life.
Just print this form and do this gratitude exercise every day. I guarantee your life will shift.
