The Power of Alignment: Music, Mind, Emotion and Action

🧠 The Power of Alignment: How Music, Mind, Emotion and Action Move You Forward

Have you ever noticed how music can shift your mood, sharpen your focus, or bring clarity to your thoughts? That’s no accident — and neuroscience explains why.

When mind, emotion and action are aligned, transformation flows effortlessly. But there’s another layer that few people talk about: sound itself. Structured sound — especially rhythmic, intentional music — can literally change how your brain functions.

This deeper alignment between what you think, how you feel, and what you do is what elite performers, athletes and high-achievers master. They understand that mindset and energy can be trained — and that the right sound can accelerate both focus and clarity.

🎵 Why Music Matters to the Brain

Unlike most activities that use only one part of the brain, music engages multiple neural systems simultaneously — attention, memory, emotion, and coordination.

Scientific research shows that music can:

  • Enhance memory and attention by activating both hemispheres of the brain.

  • Stimulate neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to rewire and adapt.

  • Increase BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) — often called “fertilizer for the brain.”

  • Reduce stress and improve mood by regulating dopamine and serotonin levels.

In short, music doesn’t just sound good — it rebuilds the brain. That’s why it’s used by therapists, high-performance coaches, and even surgeons to sharpen focus and maintain flow under pressure.

🧠 From Sound to Cognitive Clarity

Sound influences brainwaves — the rhythmic electrical patterns that govern focus, emotion and performance.

Specific frequency ranges, such as gamma waves, are linked with higher cognitive processing and attention. Tools that guide the brain toward these frequencies can help people move from mental fog to clarity and from stress to flow.

That’s the principle behind neuroscience-based sound programs like The Brain Song. Using precisely designed audio frequencies, it gently encourages the brain to enter these high-performance states naturally — helping listeners align mind, emotion, and action with ease.

🎧 A Simple Way to Harness This Every Day

One way to bring this practice into your daily life is through short, structured listening sessions.

The Brain Song, for example, is a 12-minute daily audio routine that blends advanced soundwave entrainment with soothing music to help you focus, think clearly, and reset mentally. It’s simple, non-invasive and easy to add to your existing morning ritual, meditation, or journaling practice.

🧩 My Honest Review of The Brain Song

After seeing the growing conversation around The Brain Song, I decided to look into it more deeply — not just through its marketing, but by reading independent reviews and checking the neuroscience behind it.

Here’s what I found:

The Pros

Grounded in brainwave research – The concept is supported by studies showing gamma-frequency sound can boost BDNF, the molecule that supports learning and neuroplasticity.
Short, accessible format – Only 12 minutes a day makes it realistic even for busy schedules.
Digital and portable – You can listen anywhere, no special equipment required.
Positive user experiences – Many people report improved mental sharpness, motivation, and calm after consistent use.

The Cons

⚠️ Requires consistency – Results tend to build gradually; you’ll need regular use rather than one-off sessions.
⚠️ Works best with intention – Combining it with meditation, journaling or goal-setting seems to deepen the impact.

My Verdict

Overall, The Brain Song is a genuine, science-inspired sound tool that complements mindset and self-development work. It won’t replace inner discipline — but it will enhance focus and clarity when used consistently.

If you enjoy music-based meditation or sound healing, this could easily become your favourite 12 minutes of the day.

💡 What This Means for You

Alignment isn’t about perfection — it’s about rhythm. When you combine clear thinking, emotional awareness, and intentional sound, your nervous system starts to operate in harmony.

Elite performers use these same techniques daily — visualizing goals, setting emotional tone, and using sound to anchor focus and energy. When your mind, emotions, and actions are tuned together, you stop pushing and start flowing.

Your brain is a musical instrument. The better you learn to tune it, the more effortless your performance becomes — in work, relationships, and life.

🔁 Daily Alignment Practice

  1. Set your intention: Write down one clear focus for today.

  2. Feel it: Connect emotionally to what achieving it will mean.

  3. Use sound: Listen to The Brain Song or instrumental music for 10–15 minutes.

  4. Take small aligned action: Movement cements the mindset.

You’ll notice calm energy replacing resistance — that’s the power of true alignment.

If Only You Believe - Why It Matters

Human nature may be defined by two groups, those whose focus is on the probabilities in life and those who dare to focus on the possibilities. The possibility group is always focused on what can be possible while the probability group denies the existence of anything they cannot see, touch or test. For many in the latter group extraordinary events, even miracles are often pooh poohed and mocked. Impossible, they say! And for them it may be.
Our planet has recently entered the outer bands of multi-dimensional energy. The possibility believers will notice the changes first. Things that others called impossible begin to manifest before their eyes! Information and events they have longed for and dreamed of can soon become reality as cures to difficult diseases seem to appear in totally unexpected ways. Information will arrive to those who are seeking answers even though they may not recognize the source, they simply know this may work; and it will. Aging will be dramatically slowed, not by fancy products but by people who learn to move into this new energy. Life spans will be lengthened while the quality of life is greatly enhanced. The physician within will be heard and acknowledged. All these possibilities are likely to be deemed as nonsense, impossible even, by those probability believers. Why does it matter what you believe?
Look carefully at events that have transpired in your own life. Look closely at events that happened to others, events that caused you to search deeply for how it could have happened. Those are the times you were confronted by the differences in what you believe. Colonel Sanders is a great example. This senior citizen may have been the only believer in possibilities, yet he persevered forward to become a household name. The same is true of Mary Kay, a host of artists, authors and even world leaders. Their legacy is defined by what they were willing to believe; they became a part of the rich history of world events. Imagine how different history would have been written if not for these possibility believers!
What is the real difference in these two groups? Probability believers are severely limited to what they can achieve or become in life. Everyone's opportunities in life are limited to what they can accept as reality, now or in the future. Those who rebuff possibilities are limited to what they already know, what they already believe is possible. Their focus does not extend beyond 'practicality' unless they are forced to seek a miracle. This often happens in doctors' offices and hospitals where the unthinkable has arrived on their horizon and crashed into their lives. No one knows anything that can help a desperate situation and suddenly, they look beyond the probabilities which are unacceptable.
People who are creative and in touch with harmony and the energy around them are the strongest examples of possibility believers and they affect our lives. They are always on a quest for something new; a new design, a new idea, a new way forward. They can become strong problem solvers because they routinely look beyond the obvious. Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison are among the more famous of those who affected our world because they dared to believe in what might be possible.
If you are willing to remove the self-imposed limits on what might be possible, dispose of the idea that others may find you frivolous or uninformed, you will be poised to take a leap of faith directly into energy that is more magical than we ever dared believe! Obstacles can easily be disposed of while solutions arrive unexpectedly. Miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease, if only you can believe.

How To Create More Money FAST

Do you ever find yourself thinking, "I know I should be making more money"... and yet it just isn't showing up? There's a level of income you're trying to create, but the universe seems to be on its own slower-than-slow timeline. You wonder whether you're putting blocks in your own path, or exactly what's happening?

Riley Diess is a decorated veteran turned motivational speaker. She has a natural talent for inspiration, and whenever she delivers a keynote speech, people are lined up for blocks to talk to her. With her rave reviews, and stellar referrals, she wonders, "I honestly couldn't work any harder, or any more diligently! But isn't there a way to make this money-thing go faster? Am I somehow blocking my own success?"
A lack of revenue could be for a million reasons... from our marketing message to our advertising budget to the employees we engage. It could also be from outside forces, like the market conditions we experienced back in 2008 and 2009.
If we're freelancing for other companies, a lack of a strong income could be from economic conditions like election years or foreign policy concerns... or it could come from something closer to home like mismanagement or a lack of vision of the company we work for... it could even be that we're under-qualified or over-qualified as compared to other freelancers or competitors.
So a lack of revenue can get down to a number of different reasons. But underneath it all, there's really only one reason we don't have affluence:
It's because we're focused on LACK.
If we're thinking about what we don't have, that vibration of what we don't have creates our reality.
The more we focus on prosperity thinking, the more prosperity will find its way to us. That's about as simple as it gets! This is what Riley started doing quite successfully, and you can too. (In this podcast episode, we'll even learn how to hold on to the "bigness" of a money goal, but not create a vibrational barricade to receiving it.)
Suggestion: When you're feeling stuck, it's never the situation that has you stuck... it's your energy that's become stuck, by the trigger of negative emotions that can come from past situations or events.

In other words, it isn't the pain of the situation; it's the pain of not being connected in the natural energy of who you really are... of being connected to that magical part of you that's a creative vibrational being who can use positive energies to create what you want and bring it into physical manifestation. Part of this process is to allow your manifestations to materialize, and not get stuck in the negative vibrations that block them.

How to Transform Your Life

Have you been feeling dejected in life lately? Do you want to have a more profound life? Then get ready to exist less and to live more.
As a life coach and a keynote speaker, I believe that each one of us is meant to fulfil the individual purpose of our life. So if you want to change some significant aspects of your life to make it a better one, you need to take action today to start making alterations accordingly. Remember, it's never too late to transform your life. And although transforming your life can be extremely challenging, it can be exciting and rewarding at the same time.
Transforming your life involves going beyond the way you live. It requires immense patience and discipline to create a better life for yourself. You need to have an unwavering self-confidence in your ability to be able to make significant and positive changes in your life. If you want to transform your life, you will have to become the master of your own destiny.
The process of transforming your life starts with shifting the way that you think in. You need to change your perspective and act from a new and more empowering perspective because your mindset has the power to change your entire life for the better. Emerge out of your self-absorbed cocoon, and search for a greater purpose for your life. Welcome new acquaintances and connections into your life who give you positive vibes and helps you change your outlook towards life. Develop good and fulfilling habits to bring about the desired change.
Accept yourself for the person you are. Embrace all your flaws and imperfections and forgive yourself for your mistakes and failures. Never lose sight of yourself because you will succeed in making changes only if they come from a place of self-respect rather than self-loathing.
Next, you need to have a strong desire that will propel you to achieve the purpose of your life. If you are serious about transforming your life, determine your values and then make a decision accordingly. Once you have made up your mind to usher in change into your life, commit to it.

Start with small changes and move on to a bigger step gradually. Always remember that the smallest changes can transform who you are and your life.
But it's not until you take action that change happens. Action makes your transformation deeper. So instead of procrastinating, start early and give each of the steps the time it needs. Every action leads to results and it is the result that finally helps you transform your life.
Lastly, be grateful. We generally tend to take the gift of life for granted which leads to pessimism and then to depression. So learn to be grateful for the things that you have instead of cribbing about what you don't. Gratitude opens doors for you and helps you welcome better things into your life.
The journey of life is never a straight line for anybody. Your life will have its own share of highs and lows. Failure and struggle are synonymous with life. But always keep in mind that the prerogative to change life for the better lies with you. It starts and ends with you.

How Robert Downey Jr Turned His Life Around, Rebuilt Himself, & Skyrocketed To Success

He was in a tail-spin.
His life burning to the ground... trapped in drug addiction... fired from the show Ally McBeal... and even sent to prison. No one dared to hire him. You'd never guess it today. But years ago, that was actor Robert Downey Jr.
Yet - he turned his life around... rebuilt himself... and skyrocketed to become Iron Man.
How?
Here are four secrets that turbo-charged his comeback. Even if you don't have dreams of being a dynamic actor (or actress)... even if you're facing a different "enemy"... even if you don't even like superhero movies... these four lessons (when implemented) can help you rise back up, rebuild yourself and resurrect yourself to a new level.
Iron Man's 4 Secrets to Rising From Rock-Bottom
1. Laser-Beam Focus On Taking The Next Step
Just like Tony Stark slaving away in a cave to build the original Iron Man suit. Downey's climb out of the darkness took seven years. He rebuilt his credibility, his commitment and his self-confidence one day at a time. One movie at a time. One job at a time.
He says:
I found my way out of the woods
by a subtler and subtler trail of bread crumbs
-Robert Downey Jr.
Not Hulk-like leaps forward. Small relentless steps forward.
(Remember progress is progress)
2. You Can Always Build Your Self-Discipline Muscles
At first, Downey doubted his ability to leave a life of drugs. He knew it was wrecking everything. But kept going back. With the help of Wing Chun (Chinese martial art) he built up his concentration... laser-like focus... and inner calm. This finally busted the vice-grip that drugs had over him.
3. Knowing It's Okay To Ask For Help
When Downey had demonstrated his commitment to staying sober, producers still had ice cold feet. They swore he'd bail out. But Mel Gibson (who had his own demons) who worked with him on a previous film - jumped to the rescue. He believed in Downey so much that he put up collateral to reassure producers.
This gave Downey his shot to star in The Singing Detective... showing audiences and Hollywood that he was heaven-bent on taking his life back. But if Downey was too proud to accept Gibson's help, this never would have happened.
4. Total Belief That Your Skills Will Eclipse Your Past Mistakes
At first, Marvel Comics didn't want anything to do with him. Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man, fought tooth and nail to persuade the studio to hire him. He saw Downey's electricity. He saw his dynamite acting skills overshadowed his dark past.
Here was this force of nature,
who I think was living with this frustration
that he wasn't able to really show what he was great at
-Jon Favreau
That greatness lies within each and every one of us.
We are all forces of nature in our own way.
Find what it is for you.
And start building... rebuilding... and creating something (or becoming someone) that you're proud of.
Because the past does not have to equal the future.
P.S. Besides Wing Chun, there are other powerhouse techniques for quickly tapping more inner strength, inner peace, self-discipline and bringing gusto and confidence when you wake up each morning. One way is an ancient Asian technique that gives you the strength to rapidly rebound from stressful situations. Plus, studies find it develops the "happy region" (left frontal lobe) of the brain.

IT'S POSSIBLE (Les Brown's Greatest Hits)

For your morning inspiration.

Separating Failure From Success

What makes someone successful?
Many things help, there's no question. Seeing what other people don't. Being lucky. Having the courage to try things even when they're risky. Money. Connections. Specialised training and all the right certifications.
If you have all of these, you'll probably succeed. Then again, you might not. And if you have none of them? Well, you might just succeed anyway.
How do people do it? How does one person rise above the crowd? Is it really a matter of chance or some mysterious, undefinable X-factor?

Einstein didn't think so. He had a very clear idea on what allowed him to crack some of the greatest physics puzzles in history. And it certainly wasn't his intelligence.
It's resilience - the ability to stick with a problem. If you keep trying after everyone else gives up, you'll find the solution eventually. And when you do, people will call you a genius.
"It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer." - Albert Einstein
I'm not saying anything new here. You already know the value of endurance. The athlete who can keep pushing a second longer will win the gold. A businessperson who can tolerate uncertainty a day longer will achieve miracles.
It's only failure when you quit. Everything else is a lesson.
How do you improve your resilience? You keep your body healthy, for a start. Light exercise and eating the right foods will fuel you and stave off illness. But your body is only half the picture. Resilience is as much a mental game.
Meditation is a great way to strengthen your mind. Metta meditation, also known as loving-kindness meditation, is so effective that just ten minutes a day can slash your stress levels. This is why everyone from soldiers to students to healthcare professionals turn to meditation. Many people from these high stress groups swear by it to keep themselves functioning.
For people who struggle with meditation, self-hypnosis is another option. It achieves a similar mental state to meditation, only some people find it easier and more effective. I recommend it - it's done wonders for my health. A paper published in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice showed that it reduces stress hormones in the body in just a few weeks.
How do athletes stay focused, even under pressure? Sports psychologists like to encourage visualisations to improve performance, stop stress and even heal from injury.

Even just simple things, like staying optimistic and socialising improve everything from your mood to your immune system and healing rate. And they decrease your risk of getting sick or injured in the first place.

Want to learn how to use these techniques? The March edition of Awakened Thought focuses on resilience. This is just a taste of the techniques you can start today that will improve your resilience. You'll be happier and healthier if you do.
As a side effect, you'll succeed the way Einstein did - by sticking with his problems longer.

7 Tips To Inspire Your Destiny and Life Purpose

Are you happy with your current situation in life? Your answers could range from yes, no, maybe; then you start pondering and have these strange thoughts that have been recurring every time you ask yourself this question. You sigh these thoughts out with well, sure, kind of, not really honestly, whatever...

You don’t know why or what is it, but you feel that there is something lacking. So you sit there, physically and emotionally exhausted, and wallow in self-pity because you cannot get out of that dark tunnel.

Just like that man in the story, what we need is a light at the end of that tunnel. That light could metaphorically speak to your purpose in life. You don’t know which direction to take or you’re scared from not knowing what lies ahead of you? Maybe what you actually need is a beacon of light, a purpose, to inspire and motivate you not just to move forward but to actually do a significant change in your life.

For some, finding their purpose is easy while for many, it is difficult and so they come away frustrated and dissatisfied. They cannot find their light. Sometimes however, one needs not to simply find it as you could create your own light.

You could use your own match or some friction to ignite that fire. Sometimes, it’s helpful to hear words of wisdom and advice from our ancient thinkers. What’s the best way to do that but to hear some from Socrates, the father of philosophy. Maybe his words could ignite a fire in your heart you never thought would be possible:

#1. Know Thyself

This basically means self-reflection, knowing your purpose starts with knowing yourself. It could serve as a means of awakening and discovering your inner soul, what is it saying, what does it want?

From there, it is possible to unlock the ways to live your life with meaning and a sense of fulfillment. Know yourself by asking these soul searching questions once in a while:

Why am I here?
Where do I want to go or to be?
What is my heart’s desires?
What do I want to change?
What can I do, what is my potential?

What inspires me?

These questions would be helpful in assessing your passion and interest, and in turn, give you a direction in which road to take. Also, take notes of your answers and compare them to your previous ones in order to see the changes and developments.

When it becomes hard for you to answer these questions, you could seek help from others.

Having a little chat with some people who know you like your parents and friends could help you unravel some things about yourself.

#2. Think For Yourself

Sometimes, what makes it difficult for many to discover their inner souls is that they are denying themselves this self-knowledge. Aside from being difficult, self-knowledge could be painful to some.

As a young girl, you grew up with a passion for ballet and then people start telling mean things about your dancing, that you’re not really good. You’re hurt and so you hide your shoes away and play small even though you are dying to show the world what you can do. You think you are not talented enough, and you let others extinguish that fire.

There would always be a battle between wants and couldn’t. People will tell you what you couldn’t do but in order to have that purpose, to live that meaningful life, you should know that only you could say what you couldn’t do.

#3. Seeking To Become Better

As mentioned earlier, purpose cannot only be found but also created. It does not come easily to everyone and it could be a long and gradual process so you could start by wanting to have that significant change then seeking it.
Set your purpose, own it.

#4. To be is to do

Of course, after you set your purpose, you need to act it. Wear your heart out in your sleeves. If you can picture in your head what you are supposed to be or what can make you happy, take it into action.

#5. Be aware of the bareness of a busy life

For some, being busy equates to having your purpose in life. You have a busy job, you have children to take care of, or those sort of things that you write in your planners.

However, it would not hurt to take some days off, take a little break and just live in the moment. Busyness creates an illusion that you are living you’re life but there are actually more important things that you are missing on. Give yourself some time to reconsider the things you are doing in a daily basis.

#6. The unexamined life is not worth living

Others might be wondering, how would I know if this is really my purpose? Go back to tip 1, know thyself, and ask yourself those questions again. What more should you be doing everyday to bring you not just personal purpose but also affecting other people around you?

Your sense of purpose change from time to time and we cannot actually determine that your purpose at one time would be the same for another year or a decade.

Assess and evaluate your life if it’s exactly what you wanted it to be, and the rest is up to you.

#7. Not life, but good life, is to be chiefly valued

At the end of it, Socrates would ask us not just to set a life purpose but a good life purpose, a virtuous one which would also bring good to others.
